General terms and agreement

These General Terms and Conditions are a constituent part of the travel agreement between RideON (tour operator) and the participant (customer).

Documents and legal requirements

The minimum age required to participate in a tour is 26 years old. It is mandatory to have a driving license (A category) valid for at least 3 years. These requirements are demanded by Hertz, our rental motorcycle supplier.

The customer shall be responsible for ensuring the conformity of his personal documents - passport, visas and valid driving license. He shall also be responsible for the observance of the traffic regulations on the visited country.

Only the customers accepted and recognized by the operator can ride the motorcycle.

If the customer cannot participate in the tour, or is forced to end it prematurely due to failure to meet these requirements, the tour operator shall be exempt from any liability, and shall not be obliged to refund payments to the customer.

Included in the rental service: a Limited Public Liability Cover until 50.000.000,00€.

A Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP) are also included.

Excess Charges: In case of accident/damages, the customer is financially responsible up to the minimum excess charge.

Although it is not mandatory, the operator recommends a travel insurance, covering personal accidents, medical expenses, repatriation and legal protection.

The customer shall be responsible with bringing his own riding gear

Reservations and payment methods

The tour reservation must be made online, on a reservation form available on the operator's website. The agreement will only be made effective upon written confirmation of the reservation, made by the operator.

The prerequisite to participate in one of our tours is the online acceptance of this Terms and Conditions, as well as the contract for the use of a rental motorcycle.

The written confirmation made by the operator shall describe the complete and detailed list of services, the total amount to be paid and the payment method. The customer must provide additional payment for any individual services that he may require on conclusion of the agreement or during the tour.

The invoice from the tour operator is to be paid as follows:

  • A down payment of 200,00 € within eight days after receiving the written confirmation.
  • 60% of the remaining amount at least 30 days before the start of the tour.
  • The remaining 40% at least 15 days before the start of the tour.

  • Cancellation by the customer

The customer may cancel the tour in writing at any time before the start of the trip, and the date of receipt of the cancellation by the tour operator shall be decisive. If the customer cancels a tour, the tour operator shall be entitled to demand cancellation costs amounting to the following:

  • 31 days or more before the start of the tour: the 200,00 € demanded as down payment.
  • Between 15 and 30 days before the start of the tour: 30% of the total amount.
  • Less than 15 days before the start of the tour: 50% of the total amount.

  • Cancellation by the tour operator

If it is necessary to cancel a tour for any extreme reasons outside our control, the amounts already paid by the customer shall be reimbursed in full. No further claims or demands shall be accepted.

In the event of dangerous behaviour from the participant, as well as repeated disregard of traffic regulations, the tour operator shall be entitled to exclude the participant from the tour. In such case, the rental motorcycle will be repossessed and the tour costs will not be reimbursed.

Premature termination of the tour by the customer

If, for any reason, the customer wishes to terminate the tour prematurely, he shall not be entitled to reimbursement of outstanding services charged by the tour operator to his account.

Premature termination of the tour by the operator

If, for any reason during the course of the tour, the operator is forced to terminate the tour prematurely, the customer shall be reimbursed the amount equivalent to the remaining days of the tour (excluding any flight costs). No further claims or demands shall be accepted.

Please, keep in mind that a motorcycle tour involves a degree of participation and cooperation beyond what is necessary on a conventional tour. Some aspects are not entirely predictable, and cannot be planned in advance. Eventual changes to the scheduled routes or hotels may not be considered changes to the provided services, if these changes, detours, modifications or variations do not substantially alter the general characteristics of the tour.

    Place of jurisdiction

Both parties shall agree on Lisbon (Portugal) as the place of jurisdiction.

    Liability waiver

Those taking part in a motorcycle tour are fully aware of the risks and dangers involved, and accept full liability.
